Joe was born in Dallas in 1961 and has lived in the Dallas area most of his life. After graduating from Southern Methodist University in 1983, Joe married his best friend, Cindy Gideon in 1985. Joe and Cindy have a daughter, Emily and two sons, Jake and Peyton who currently live in Sunnyvale.

Joe is a licensed CPA who began his career in real estate and construction in 1985 with the Trammell Crow Company. Joe has a passion for cars and motorcycles. His prize possession is a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air that has its own place in their garage. The ’57 Chevy holds a special place in his heart as this car was a working project of love since the age of 15 with his father. Next to the Chevy are his two Harley Davidsons, a 2009 Sportster Custom and a 2012 Road Glide Custom.

Joe’s father, Glynn Geer, passed away on July 20, 1989 from kidney cancer. On Joe’s Road Glide, a memorial to his Dad reads “Papa Loves You Boy” as these were the last words that Glynn said to Joe. Joe has channeled his love for his Dad into his passion for Rumble Against Cancer and helping the founders of Rumble as he can to further the mission.
